The dandelion, symbol of our project, is a small but perennial flower, which grows even in difficult conditions. To survive it has developed the ability to release its seeds with a small tuft of white hair which, acting as a parachute, pushes them very far.
At The Utopian Dandelion Project, we design and deliver free participatory photography, film, and psychotherapy-based workshops in partnership with communities navigating trauma, conflict, displacement, and systemic injustice. From young people in foster care to survivors of domestic abuse, addiction, gang violence, or war, we create safe, expressive spaces for healing, storytelling, and self-advocacy — always with consent, always with care.
In these few words, in the simplicity and adaptability of the dandelion, lies the substance and mission of our project.
This is not a product. This is a process.
