Current situation during the Uganda Elections.

By Monica Norley.

Current situation in Uganda for our women and children. Tensions are running high because of the presidential election tomorrow. I have only been able to recently reestablish communication due to an intentional media blackout there. There is a strong military presence (the army has passed by our shelter and premises today), tear gas, riots and violence happening all over the country. But we have managed to get 25 emergency food and supplies parcels or direct cash delivered to women and their kids so far. Jude's elderly mum is thanking us here. Thank goodness for all your donations and monthly support of Women and Children with Albinism in Uganda through Fondazione Cariello Corbino. If you would like to contribute to ensure safety and food for persons affected by Albinism over the next few days (or possibly weeks), you can do so here - https://paypal.me/wacwau?locale.x=en_GB
